There are three shelters at the east end of the top path within West Princes Street Gardens, which have suffered from vandalism in recent years. The Trust aims to improve the interior of these shelters and provide a lockable front to prevent vandalism reoccurring.
Usage of the new spaces is yet to be confirmed but it is likely that one of the shelters will be used to display plans for the Garden improvements.
The City of Edinburgh Council and the Trust are both committed to public consultation and see the Shelters as a convenient location to promote part of that process. Interested parties will be encouraged to view the proposals for Gardens and to allow their comments to be reviewed and taken into account.
